The BIR announces memorandum circular no. 126-2021, to help inform taxpayers of the use of InstaPay via UPAY to submit internal revenue taxes using BSP banks and other e-money issuers.

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) addresses all taxpayers, employees, and internal revenue officials with its memorandum circular no. 126-2021, informing the public about using InstaPay via UPAY facilities of the Union Bank of the Philippines (UPB) to pay internal revenue taxes.   InstaPay is an electronic fund transfer (EFT) service that gives its users the opportunity to transfer PHP funds between accounts of participating Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) banks and other non-bank e-money issuers in the country.

The circular explained that to pay taxes using InstaPay via UPAY, users would need to enter the BIR website and select the EPAY icon. Wherein a list of e-payment facility icons will be displayed on your screen, then click the UPAY (InstaPay) icon below the Union Bank option. They will then be given a link to an instructional video detailing the steps on how to pay taxes via UPAY. The memorandum then stated that taxpayers will need to file their corresponding tax returns on electronic filing facilities of the eBIRForms System.
